Bac Ninh is a major industrial center of the country, and also belongs to the group of localities leading in attracting FDI capital, with tens of thousands of experts and foreign workers (mainly from China, Korea,... ) coming to live and work, leading to housing needs for this group.
Previously, at the end of 2024, Lao Dong Newspaper had a series of articles reflecting the situation of many foreigners living in social housing projects in Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces (old) - places that are regulated to be for workers and low-income people.
After that, the Ministry of Construction and the People's Committees of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces (old) directed departments, branches, and localities to get involved in reviewing. Through reviewing from Lao Dong Newspaper's reflection, localities have moved about 2,000 foreigners out of social housing projects.
Talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper at that time, the Bac Ninh Provincial Department of Construction said that the unit is also reviewing the housing needs of foreigners in the province to supplement and plan areas to attract investment in housing and accommodation projects for this group.
Last March, Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee issued a document on supporting foreigners to buy and rent houses in the province.
