VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park (IP) in Vinh Trinh commune, Vinh Thanh district has an area of 293.7 hectares in phase 1 with a total investment of VND 3,717 billion (equivalent to nearly USD 160 million) started in September 2024, and has completed site clearance (GPMB) for 100% of the area.
For the resettlement area (TDC) serving VSIP Industrial Park (phase 1), this land has an area of nearly 52.3 hectares. Of which, phase 1 implements 22.5 hectares of infrastructure investment to arrange 547 resettlement plots for cases affected by the project, worker housing area, commercial service land, public works, social welfare, traffic, parks - trees, technical infrastructure... with an expected population of about 4,000 people.
This resettlement area was started in August 2024, with a total investment of over 513.9 billion VND; phase 1 has handed over 100% of the land. It is expected that before the Lunar New Year 2025, 300 resettlement plots will be completed in advance so that people can draw lots to receive plots and build houses.
For the two routes leading to VSIP Industrial Park, route No. 1, connecting from National Highway 80, with a total investment of over 172.4 billion VND, has completed 100% of compensation and site clearance; construction progress has reached 79%. It is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2024.
As for route No. 2, connecting from the access road to Vam Cong bridge, the total investment is nearly 385 billion VND, the total length of the route is 1,217m, the site has been handed over 100%, and it is expected that the project will be handed over and put into use by April 2025.
Previously, at the inspection on November 27, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee Nguyen Van Hieu said that if the resettlement in the first phase is well implemented, the implementation of phase 2 will be very favorable.
The Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee stated that the resettlement area will be the basis for forming new urban areas, promoting the socio-economic development of the locality as well as the city. Therefore, Vinh Thanh district and departments need to focus on this issue.
Emphasizing the issue of resettlement areas, the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee requested that Vinh Thanh district quickly deploy to arrange for people; strive to have 300 plots of land by the end of this year to hand over to households whose resettlement policies have been approved.
