According to statistics from the Ministry of Construction, from 2021 until now, across the country, 619 social housing projects have been implemented with a scale of 561,816 units.

In the first 6 months of 2024, there are 8 social housing projects completed with a scale of 3,136 units. Along with that, 5 projects have been licensed and started construction, with a scale of 8,468 units, and 9 projects have investment policies, with a scale of 8,795 units.

Speaking at the Workshop "Hai Phong - A bright spot for social housing development" organized by Tien Phong Newspaper on August 16, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh said that laws related to real estate such as Land, Effective housing and real estate business are a very important basis for promoting housing projects and the real estate market, including social housing.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh stated that the development of social housing still has many difficulties, especially related to institutions, affecting the implementation progress of localities and investors. The legal system has recently had many new points and marked improvements.

That is, the Party and State's policies on housing, especially housing for low-income groups, have been institutionalized; The laws have overcome some overlapping and inconsistent conflicts; Strengthen decentralization in project implementation; Reforming administrative procedures in implementing and implementing projects...

Along with that, a number of policies on social housing development have been paid attention and revised to ensure clarity. In particular, local People's Committees have been assigned to reserve land funds to ensure sufficient land fund for social housing development based on needs. Deputy Minister Sinh emphasized that in recent times, many localities have actively participated in promoting real estate projects, including social housing projects. Hai Phong is a bright spot, highly appreciated for its direction, leadership and implementation.

Assessing Hai Phong's "bright spot" in developing social housing in recent times, Mr. Sinh said that the city has paid great attention to dedicating land funds to develop social housing; Interested in a very nice location in the inner city. Giving his opinion at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chairman of Hai Phong City Labor Confederation - said that the selling price of some social housing projects in the area is currently still quite high, fluctuating from 16-19 million VND. /m2.
