Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has decided to approve the task of adjusting the zoning plan (1/2,000) of the central area of Dien Khanh town (Dien Khanh district).
The planning area includes the center of Dien Khanh town and part of the neighboring communes of Dien Thanh and Dien Toan with an area of nearly 340 hectares. The east borders National Highway 1A, the west borders Suoi Dau River, the south borders Vo Nguyen Giap Street and the north borders Cai River.
This area will be a high-density ecological urban area associated with the preservation and restoration of the Dien Khanh ancient citadel space on the basis of developing the historical and traditional cultural values of the area. The forecast population of Dien Khanh town by 2040 is about 25,000 people.
The approved Planning Task is the basis for the People's Committee of Dien Khanh district to organize the preparation, submission for appraisal and approval of the Adjustment of the Zoning Plan (scale 1/2000) of the Dien Khanh Town Center Area according to the provisions of law. This locality must be responsible for the contents of the planning task dossier, ensuring consistency with the general planning.
Previously, in June 2024, Khanh Hoa province decided to approve the project to adjust the Dien Khanh Urban Master Plan to 2040.
Regarding population size, the forecast of the total urban population of Dien Khanh district by 2030 is about 200,000 people and by 2040 about 250,000 people.
Dien Khanh urban area is a multi-sector economic center, playing a complementary and mutually supportive role in development, closely linked to Nha Trang city and supporting the development of the western mountainous region of the province, with main economic activities including tourism associated with cultural - historical values, human ecology; clean agriculture, farm economy; commercial services, performing the role of an ecological and traditional cultural urban area.
The new administrative center area in Dien Lac commune, the urban area near the high-speed railway station, on both sides of Vo Nguyen Giap road and Dien Tho ecological urban area will be the economic, financial and commercial center of Dien Khanh district and the region.
