According to the third quarter 2024 report of the Vietnam Association of Realtors (VARS), a series of brokerage offices in areas with large enough new supply have opened or reopened, attracting a large number of brokerage staff to join.
In the first 9 months of 2024, the number of dissolved enterprises was 907 (down 3.1%); the number of enterprises returning to operation was 2,553 (up 39.7%) over the same period; the number of newly established enterprises was 3,446 (up 1.4%).

Not long after returning to work, Mr. Nguyen Van Truong - a real estate broker in Vinh Long province and Can Tho city - has closed two billion-dollar contracts, with a commission of tens of millions of dong.
In 2023, due to 8 months without any real estate transactions, and the company facing difficulties, this broker was forced to quit and find another job.
"After quitting my job, I thought a lot. This job doesn't only depend on luck but also on knowledge. For about half a year now, seeing the market improve, investment in transportation, especially the granting of practice certificates to brokers, I decided to return to work," said Mr. Truong.
Previously, the company of Mr. Tran Minh Hau - a real estate brokerage office owner in Can Tho City - also cut staff, employees quit because there were no contracts and no money to pay employees.
"From last year to March this year, the office has reduced 30% of its staff. However, thanks to the newly issued land-related laws, the Mekong Delta region has implemented many important transportation projects, the market is also stable, liquidity is good, the office has maintained its staff," said Mr. Hau.
According to the report on housing and real estate market in the second quarter of 2024 of the Department of Construction of Can Tho City, the real estate transaction situation has a positive trend, the transaction volume in the second quarter of 2024 reached 1,788 transactions, an increase of 27% compared to the first quarter of 2024.
Can Tho City Real Estate Association forecasts that thanks to the push from traffic infrastructure, real estate in the Mekong Delta region has many opportunities for development, with bright spots appearing, creating a stepping stone from the end of the year.
