On December 10, the People's Council of Hai Duong province continued the working program of the 28th session with the content of questioning the directors of the Departments of Industry and Trade, Construction, Natural Resources and Environment, Information and Communications, and Health on issues of concern to voters and people.
At the meeting, the Hai Duong Department of Construction answered voters' questions about solutions to achieve the goal of building 15,920 social housing units by 2030, the selling price of social housing per square meter, and what solutions are needed to reduce social housing prices.
Mr. Nguyen Hoai Long - Director of the Department of Construction said that the land fund for developing social housing and workers' housing in industrial parks is currently in excess of the provincial housing development program. However, the total number of apartments expected to be put into use in 2025 is 1,345, only reaching about 23% of the target for the period of 2023 - 2025.
Currently, the progress of implementing and constructing social housing projects in Hai Duong province is also slow compared to the requirements. The main reason is that it takes a lot of time to select a consulting unit to adjust the planning; reporting to the Party Committee, asking for opinions from departments and branches before reporting to the Provincial People's Committee.
The Director of the Department of Construction also said that the price of social housing is from 15 - 18 million/m2 and proposed 3 solutions to reduce the price of social housing, including technical solutions, investor selection, and incentives for investors building social housing.
