On August 6, the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the unit is urgently completing the pre-feasibility study report of 4 projects under the urban embellishment program in the South bank of Doi canal area, located in Chanh Hung and Binh Dong wards.
The projects have a total length of about 8.8 km. The project section from Rach Ong bridge to Mat bridge (Chanh Hung ward) has a total investment of about 6,425 billion VND. The project will build about 1.2 km of embankment on the south bank of Doi canal, expand Pham The Hien street to 30 m along with technical infrastructure on the route.
The section from Mat bridge to Hiep An bridge (Chanh Hung ward) has a total capital of about 14,600 billion VND. In addition to building about 2.1 km of the south bank embankment of Doi canal and expanding Pham The Hien street, the project also expands Mat bridge, Hiep An bridge, invests in rainwater and wastewater drainage systems, technical trenches, lighting, green trees and builds nearly 10 hectares of green space.
The section from Hiep An bridge to Ba Tang bridge (Binh Dong ward) has a total investment of about 10,805 billion VND. The project will build about 2.6 km of embankment on the south bank of Doi canal, combined with excavating part of the southern embankment base, expanding Pham The Hien street to 30 m and building a new Ba Tang bridge.
The section from Ba Tang bridge to the south bank of Doi canal (Binh Dong ward) has a total investment of about 15,632 billion VND, with a construction scale of about 2.9 km of south bank embankment, expanding Pham The Hien street to 30 m and synchronously investing in drainage systems, technical trenches, green trees, and lighting.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board, a total of 7,111 cases will be affected by 4 projects, of which 5,807 cases must be completely cleared. The demand for resettlement is expected to be about 1,742 cases.
Currently, the unit is coordinating with departments, branches and local authorities to complete the dossier to submit to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for consideration and decision on investment policies at the 4th session, expected to take place from August 24 to 28.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board, by 2030, Ho Chi Minh City aims to complete 117 projects to renovate and relocate about 41,540 houses along rivers, canals, and ditches.
The program aims to improve the quality of life of people, treat pollution, reduce flooding, control tides and build a synchronous urban landscape along rivers, canals, and ditches.
In which, phase 1 will implement 54 projects, affecting about 19,958 houses, with a total estimated investment of more than 149,510 billion VND.
Phase 2 includes 63 projects, affecting about 21,582 houses, with a total estimated investment of more than 232,887 billion VND.
