Marcus Rashford returned to Manchester United after his loan deal with Aston Villa officially expired on June 30. However, the striker has no future at Old Trafford and wants to move to a new club rather than return to Carrington this summer.
So, as the 2025-2026 season approaches, where will Rashford go next?
Barcelona
Barcelona is still Rashford's favorite destination if he leaves Man United this summer. And the door is wide open for the 27-year-old striker to join Blaugrana.
The reason is that last week, Barcelona lost hope of recruiting Luis Diaz of Liverpool and Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao.
Liverpool have rejected Bayern Munich's offer for Diaz, just as they did to Barca earlier this summer. The Kop made it clear that the Colombian player is not for sale. After that, Williams also signed a new 10-year contract with Athletic Bilbao.

Financial problems remain a concern for Barcelona. They have tight financial figures set by La Liga and often have difficulty registering new players.
Rashford's move to Barcelona looks more likely than a week ago, but the deal would have to go in the foot of the Blaugrana's finances. Rashford's salary at Old Trafford, in addition to the "Red Devils" price requirements, will be a big obstacle.
Aston Villa
If he cannot move to Barcelona, Rashford wants to play for another club to participate in the Champions League. Therefore, Aston Villa were left out of Rashford's potential destination list. The Villa Park side are also reluctant to pursue a £40 million long-term deal with Man United.
Rashford moved to Villa on loan in January this year and has had a promising time. The 27-year-old striker is gradually regaining his best form, but Villa have missed the opportunity to participate in the Champions League. Obviously, it will take many conditions to see Rashford wear the Villa shirt once again.
Newcastle
In April, it was reported that Rashford did not want to move to London. This seems to have ruled out Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham.
As Man United's biggest rivals, Man City and Liverpool will also find it difficult to participate in this deal. Therefore, if Rashford wants to play for a club in the Champions League in England, only Newcastle remains.

However, Newcastle do not seem to be very interested in Rashford at the moment. Alexander Isak is their main striker, and coach Eddie Howe has other goals. They include Anthony Elanga, Johan Bakayoko, Karim Adeyemi and Mo Kudus.
Other overseas clubs
According to British media, Rashford has also received attention from clubs in Germany, Italy and Saudi Arabia.
A problem for European clubs is Rashford's high salary at Man United. On the contrary, with the Saudi Pro League, the 27-year-old player did not seem very interested.

A loan deal would be likely for European clubs but Man United wanted to sell them. Similarly, the "Red Devils" also want to recover the transfer fee from Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho.
However, so far, only Sancho has received much specific attention from Europe, including Juventus, Napoli and his former club Dortmund.
