Alejandro Garnacho's controversial move when wearing the Aston Villa shirt under the name Marcus Rashford further reinforced Manchester United's desire to sell him.
While Man United have not commented publicly on Garnacho's controversial move, sources said it only makes the club try harder to sell the English player.
The Red Devils want to sell Garnacho for around £60 million, but the disagreement between him and Amorim means that price will have to drop significantly. Moreover, Man United's leadership also did not want to keep the young Argentine star.
The more realistic fee Man United can accept will be around £40 million, which is considered pure profit when considering the rules of profit and sustainability. Garnacho is an academy graduate and joined the youth training system of M.U from Atletico Madrid in 2020 at the age of 15.

The same thing happened to Rashford, whom Man United are trying to sell for around £40 million. However, his £300,000-a-week salary would make another loan move the most likely scenario. Unless the English striker accepts a salary reduction, otherwise M.U will have a hard time selling.
The Old Trafford team is also trying to sell two other abandoned players, Jadon Sancho and Antony. However, Man United may have to accept a loan move for both, just like they did last season.
Garnacho lost Amorim's support at the end of last season, when he was left out of the starting lineup for the 1-0 loss to Tottenham in the Europa League final.
The Argentine has publicly criticized Amorim's decision to leave him out of the starting lineup after a failed bid that cost Man United a place in the European Cup for the second time in 35 years.
According to British media, Amorim had a fiery exchange with Garnacho in front of Man United players. The Portuguese captain is said to have told the 20-year-old player that he should "pray" to find a club ready to sign him.
That was one day before Man United's final match of the 2024-2025 Premier League season, a 2-0 home win over Aston Villa. This was also the match in which Garnacho was eliminated.

In a social media post, Garnacho's girlfriend Eva Garcia posted a photo of the Man United outfit their son wore, with the words "last match". This move is widely understood as a confirmation that Garnacho will leave Old Trafford this summer.
Garnacho and Rashford were left out of the Man United squad for last December's 2-1 win over Manchester City. But while Garnacho has found a way back to Amorim's plans for the rest of the season, Rashford has no chance and is on loan to Villa.
