Need to build a strong national key press force
This morning (6.), the 1st Party Congress of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) for the 2025-2030 term solemnly opened at the Opera House (Hanoi).
At the Congress, Mr. Luu Dinh Phuc - Director of the Press Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) - presented a speech on lessons learned from building models and policy mechanisms for the press in the streamlined revolution.
According to Mr. Luu Dinh Phuc, Vietnam's revolutionary press has passed the milestone of a century with important contributions to the Party's revolutionary cause.
The press plan is issued after 5 years, by 2019, the press had reduced 58 newspapers and 115 magazines, affecting about 1,500 people. This streamlining revolution after only 6 months has reduced 38 newspapers, nearly 100 magazines, 33 radio and television stations, affecting about 18,000 people, of which the broadcasting sector has about 9,000 people.
The Director of the Press Department said that the new requirements are for the management of core issues. In which, first of all, the press must play a dominating role, mastering the information front to make the people understand, trust and follow, to gather the trust and leadership of the Party.
Second, the press participates in protecting the Party's ideological foundation. Protect and promote national cultural values, build and comprehensively develop Vietnamese people in the new era.
Third, the current revolutionary press force is large but dispersed, so it is necessary to build a strong national key press force, with extensive influence in the country and abroad, playing a controlling role, as a pillar to lead the information orientation.
The media situation must start from the hearts of the people
According to Mr. Luu Dinh Phuc, in the process of implementing the streamlined revolution, the press has contributed significantly to creating momentum, promoting awareness of change, making society and people clearly see the benefits of the streamlined revolution.
Along with that, the press is fueling the aspiration to develop a prosperous and strong country, national pride, confidence, self-reliance, self-reliance, national aspiration, aspiration to get rich, aspiration to rise up.
From the practice of building models and policy mechanisms for press development in the streamlining revolution, Mr. Luu Dinh Phuc presented 4 lessons. That is:
Firstly, the lesson about the media platform starts from the people's hearts, promoting the power of the people's media platform in implementing the Party's resolutions.
The communication phase must start from the people's hearts so that they understand, believe and follow, the core policy orientation of propaganda must be to stick with the people, for the people, speaking along with doing.
Second, the lesson in practice deeply grasps the spirit of the resolution. More than anyone else, the head of the Party Committee and the person working in management must grasp the spirit of the Party's resolution, have empathy, and have a clear mindset to direct the implementation correctly, accurately and effectively.
Third, lessons and approaches to the spirit of resolution from the perspective of the department. With the major viewpoints and decisions of the Party and State on streamlining the apparatus, including the press, it is necessary to place policies in the overall general goal of national development to have a broader perspective, see social significance, humanistic significance, see the aspiration for national development.
Fourth, the lesson of consistency in awareness, determination in action. The streamlined revolution is associated with the institutional revolution, so it requires Party committee leaders to have a consistent awareness, a sharp thinking, adaptation, flexible adaptation and high determination in organizing and implementing.
