After scoring a superb hat-trick against Atletico Madrid to save Juventus, CR7 ran back to the touchline and recreated Simeone's moves in the first leg.
Simeone's move to lower the bar towards the stands after the Madrid match was "taunted" by UEFA and fortunately, the Argentine coach escaped a penalty, only being fined 17,000 euros. But in the moment of sublimation, Ronaldo recreated that somewhat ugly behavior.
In a notice issued from UEFA headquarters in Switzerland, the organization emphasized: "After an investigation conducted by the Committee for ethics and Discipline, under Article 55, player Ronaldo's behavior in the match in Italy on March 12 violated Clause 11 (2) (b) and 11 (2) (d) with inappropriate actions".
UEFA stressed that it will continue to meet to discuss this penalty for the Portuguese superstar. The upcoming meeting on Thursday will have the participation of the Agency for Control, ethics and Discipline.
In the worst case, if Ronaldo is banned from playing, he will be absent from the first leg on 10.4 away. CR7 could then return to the Allianz Stadium in the return match on 16 April.
This season, Ronaldo has 19 goals in Serie A and 4 goals in the Champions League. With only Ajax Armsterdam, Juventus' chances of advancing to the semi-finals are wide open.
