Two assists from Bruno Fernandes for Man United in the 3-1 victory over Aston Villa in March helped him set a new record for the club and get closer to the Premier League record.
Fernandes' two assists in the 53rd and 71st minutes of that match raised his total assists to 16 in the 2025-2026 season, surpassing David Beckham's record of 15 assists in the 1999-2000 season, which was previously the highest record of a Man United player in a Premier League season.
Bruno is also on track to break the record for most assists in a season in the Premier League, currently at 20. This record is jointly held by Thierry Henry (2002-2003) and Kevin De Bruyne (2019-2020).
What makes Bruno's record-breaking achievement for the club this season remarkable is his first assist in the season only coming on October 19, 2025, when he assisted Harry Maguire to score the decisive goal in the 2-1 victory over Liverpool.

Including the first assist in the 8th round at Anfield, Bruno has had 16 assists after 21 matches, reaching a rate of 0.76 assists per match. If he continues to maintain this rate in the remaining 7 matches, Bruno will have at least 5 more assists, bringing the total to 21 assists this season, surpassing the record held by Henry and De Bruyne.
This possibility is very likely to happen when Man United's schedule in the remaining period is very favorable. Two of Man United's remaining seven opponents are teams that Bruno has assisted in scoring goals this season - Liverpool (home) and Nottingham Forest (home).
Bruno is also aiming for a record. Bruno's assist for Casemiro in the match against Villa was his ninth assist from set pieces. Steven Gerrard holds the record for the number of assists from dead balls with 11 in the 2013-2014 season.
Bruno, who is currently with Chris Brunt (9 assists for West Brom in the 2014-2015 season) ranked second in the number of assists from set pieces in a season, can equal Gerrard's record if he adds two more assists or can overcome if he reaches a higher number.
Casemiro's assist for the opening goal also marks the fifth time Bruno has assisted the Brazilian player in the 2025-2026 season, the most compared to any other player assisting his teammate in the Premier League this season.
Meanwhile, Bruno's pass leading to Man United's second goal against Villa, scored by Matheus Cunha, marked his 100th assist for the Red Devils in all competitions. He is Man United's fourth player to reach this milestone, after Ryan Giggs (249), Wayne Rooney (127) and Beckham (115).
