Fantasy Premier League (FPL) has become a familiar part of Premier League fans when it turns watching the league into a team management game based on real data.
Launched in 2002, the FPL allows players to build their own squad of 15 players with a budget of £100 million, including 11 starters and 4 substitutes. Players can buy and sell players, use tactical chips and compete on global charts or their own Leagues.
The attractiveness of FPL lies in the scoring system. Players are recognized for goals, assists, clean sheets, saves and bonus points. Therefore, a defender or goalkeeper can still bring in many points even if they do not directly score.
This calculation method makes players' interest extend to the entire Premier League. Instead of just waiting for matches of MU, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea, each match can affect their FPL squad.
In Vietnam, players-established leagues have also become a place for competition between friends, colleagues and the fan community. Notably, FPL has just added the Fantasy Play League specifically for Vietnamese players, created through the collaboration between FPL and FPT Play.
Fantasy Play League is displayed in the Broadcaster League section on FPL. Players who want to join only need to confirm the country and nationality in their account.
The appearance of a separate League for Vietnam opens up an additional competitive space for the FPL community, while creating more ways for audiences to follow and interact with the Premier League throughout the season.
