Kobbie Mainoo extends contract with Man United

NGUYỄN ĐĂNG |

On April 30, Kobbie Mainoo signed a new contract, extending his attachment to Man United until June 2031.

This midfielder born in Stockport is widely recognized as one of the most outstanding talents of his generation. He joined the club's world-renowned academy in 2014 and gradually played for youth teams, Man United's first team.

At the age of 21, Mainoo has made 98 appearances for Man United. He scored the decisive goal in the FA Cup final in 2024 against Man City, then was called up to the England national team to participate in EURO 2024.

At the beginning of the season, Mainoo rarely played under Amorim. However, when Carrick took over, Mainoo was trusted, started 12/13 matches and this midfielder made a great contribution to helping his team revive.

Kobbie Mainoo said: "Man United has always been my home, this special club is very important to my family. I grew up witnessing the club's influence on the city, and I cherish the responsibility that comes with this shirt.

From The Cliff, Littleton Road, to Carrington and finally Old Trafford, the journey to this day is incredible. I have the honor of living my dream every day, with a burning desire for success like when I participated in my first training session at the age of six.

We all feel the strong development momentum in the club. I am determined to try my best and contribute my role to help Man United regularly compete for major titles in the coming years.

Jason Wilcox, Man United's Football Director, said: "Kobbie is one of the most naturally talented young players in the world. His technical ability, professional dedication and humble personality make him an ideal role model for our young players and a true pride of our excellent Academy system.

We are very happy that Kobbie Mainoo has extended his contract and are completely confident that he will develop into one of the best players in the world, ready to play a key role in the Man United squad aiming for the biggest titles.
