Since Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag in early November 2024, Man United have lost seven of their 13 Premier League games, leaving the Old Trafford side in 13th place, close to the relegation zone.
But Dalot still has faith in his fellow Portuguese coach. “To be honest, with Amorim, I think we can win the Premier League,” he said. “But then the hardest thing to hear as a fan is: it will take time.
I think we can win the Premier League with Amorim, but at the same time, the team needs to create an environment where he can arrange things the way he wants from the players. The team also needs to adapt to the new system. That will take time.
Obviously we can't think too much ahead, but I really believe that with the way he behaves, the way he communicates with the players, the ideas he has... we can be successful," Dalot told Man United's homepage.
Amorim has tried to assert his authority at Man United since taking charge. He has applied a new playing system, willing to part with star Marcus Rashford due to disciplinary issues. However, the Portuguese strategist has also caused controversy over the arrangement of the squad.

For example, he left strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee on the bench in the 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace. Dalot also admitted that the first few months under Amorim were challenging, but he saw some positive signs amid the team's inconsistent play.
“We try to change things, but at the same time we have to win games. It is a difficult process. I don't like to say that it is always an excuse, but it is the reality, and sometimes we have to face it.
But at the same time, we fought and tried to make things better. But we also know that we have a lot of responsibility and the players need to do much better than what the team has done in recent matches.
“Man United have had some moments where we have shown we are a good team, we can do what the manager wants us to do. We are just trying to find that consistency,” Dalot said.
Stability is something Dalot has found, in a personal sense, amid United's inconsistent form over the past few years. Over the past two and a half seasons, Dalot has made 138 appearances for United, playing both left and right back.
That personal growth and progression is a great example for teammates and aspiring young players, and Dalot is rightly proud of it.
Dalot and his teammates at Man United will now prepare for the away match against Tottenham this weekend.
