Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is preparing to join Trabzonspor on loan.
While Premier League clubs have closed their transfer window and cannot register new players until next year, the summer transfer market in Turkey is still open for a while. This created conditions for the Onana deal to be completed.
Onana joined Man United from Inter Milan in 2023 and has spent two seasons as a manager. However, since the beginning of this season, he has been removed from the starting lineup by coach Ruben Amorim, giving way to goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.
The "Red Devils" have just spent more than 18 million pounds to bring Belgian young goalkeeper Senne Lammens to Old Trafford. This deal is seen as a factor that accelerated Onana's departure, although the Cameroonian goalkeeper only left on a purely loan, without a buy-in clause.

According to British media, Onana's entire salary at Man United will be paid by Trabzonspor, along with bonuses that could help the Cameroonian goalkeeper double his current income.
Onana is expected to complete the loan deal immediately after returning from the national team training session, where he and Cameroon just defeated Cape Verde. The victory in this match helped Cameroon take the lead in the group in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
According to the format, the top teams will qualify directly for the final round, while the 4 best second-placed teams will be given a second chance through the play-off round.
Former Chelsea and Scotland international cra cra crabs Burley have expressed skepticism about Onana's progress since joining Old Trafford.
"Onana is one of the players who came to Old Trafford and then lost form. He spends a lot of money, but still cannot help build a solid four-man defense.
I used to think Onana would be a really good choice in Italy. He exuded the same demeanor as Peter Schmeichel - the demeanor of a leader on the pitch. But that did not happen. If a new goalkeeper comes and plays uncertainly, the entire defensive system will fall into chaos," Burley said.
Initially, Man United had no plans to add more goalkeepers in the summer transfer window. However, everything changed as soon as Onana returned to training before the season. He had hamstring problems in the first training session and suffered a more serious injury just a day later.
This has led the coaching staff to question Onana's fitness after his summer break, when he immediately had problems. As a result, Bayindir was given the starting position in the opening 3 rounds of the Premier League.

Onana was even left out of the squad for the Arsenal game, despite his confirmation that he was fit enough to play, while Tom Heaton was chosen as a substitute. The Cameroonian goalkeeper was even more surprised when he continued to be left out of the squad for the match against Fulham.
Meanwhile, Lammens recently shared how he quickly built trust with his teammates. "To be a good goalkeeper, you have to be a solid support behind the defense.
They have to trust and rely on you in difficult times. That is something I am always proud of. Of course, I still need to improve further when stepping to a higher level, but this is one of the qualities that I have always maintained and constantly trained" - the 23-year-old goalkeeper said.
