Marcus Rashford has just been announced by the Barcelona homepage as a new player after a loan deal from Manchester United. In this loan clause, the 27-year-old striker could be bought out at the end of next season if both sides agree.
Barcelona will play all of next season for Barca but will be forced to reduce their salary (about 15%). A rather surprising thing is that Barca will pay Rashy all his salary, unlike initial speculations of only paying half. Despite a 15% reduction, Rashford's salary at Barcelona is still in the highest group, along with Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski.
Rashford arrived in Spain last Sunday after being allowed by Man United. Captain Hansi Flick of the Camp Nou team had a direct talk with the English player and approved him to join the Blaugrana first team.
At his new club, Rashford will wear the number 14 shirt and promises to return to form one day soon.

I have clearly identified it from the beginning, actually since January, but things have not gone as expected. So I came to Aston Villa and enjoyed a great time at Villa Park. I am very happy and grateful to have the opportunity to play there.
Summer comes very quickly and it is time to make a decision. My choice was easy, Barcelona. This is not just a club, it is a family, something I have been familiar with so far.
Barca is like home, making me feel like I have made the right decision. I am very excited to play and play my first match in front of the fans. Playing for this team is a special moment and I am ready to start" - Rashford shared at the press conference.
Barcelona are looking for a striker who can operate in many positions and in attack, with the left wing position considered a priority after they felt out of options at the end of last season. Lending Rashford at the beginning will help Barcelona overcome financial difficulties.
The English striker spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, scoring four goals in 17 appearances. However, his time at Villa Park was shortened due to a hamstring injury he suffered in April.

Rashford missed the final four games of last season and was left out of the England squad by Thomas Tuchel in recent matches against Andorra and Senegal.
Marcus Rashford is one of Man United's highest-paid players with more than £325,000 a week, with Villa paying 3/4 (in addition to performance bonuses) throughout his loan term.
Rashford has not played for Man United since the Europa League match against Viktoria Plzen on December 12, 2024. The striker was first left out of the Premier League squad by Ruben Amorim in the match against Man City on December 15, 2024.
"Man United are in a period of change and they have been like that for a long time. I have nothing to blame Man United, that is an important part not only in my career but also in life.
I am very grateful to have the opportunity to play for them but football is like life and not everything goes as simply as you think. This is the next chapter in my career and I am fully focused on this, trying to improve myself and helping the team win titles. I have nothing to say about Manchester United at the moment, just wish them all the best. I hope they will succeed in the future" - Rashford shared.
