Man United began the Ruben Amorim era with a 1-1 draw against newly promoted Ipswich Town at the weekend.
After the match, the Portuguese coach shared that it will be a long and thorny road ahead to bring Man United back to the top. Currently, the focus will be on the Europa League. Amorim will have to forget beating Man City 4-1 at Sporting Lisbon, instead focusing on the goal of getting Man United through the group stage.
The Red Devils are currently 15th in the standings with only 6 points, 1 point behind Bodo/Glimt. In the next 4 matches, Amorim's team needs to win all to get 18 points, enough to be in the top 8.
On the other side, Bodo/Glimt are very close to the Norwegian national championship title. They are leading the domestic rankings with 59 points, needing only 1 more victory to be crowned this weekend.
In the continental arena, Kjetil Knutsen's team also played well, getting points in both away matches against Braga and Union SG. However, it will be very difficult to cause a surprise when visiting Old Trafford. Man United have only lost 1 of their last 26 home matches in the Europa League.
The squad quality and class of the two sides are also very different, so it is difficult to expect Bodo/Glimt to be able to make a difference when traveling to Manchester.
Expected lineup
Man United: Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Evans; Amad, Casemiro, Eriksen, Shaw; Antony, Hojlund, Fernandes
Bodo/Glimt: Haikin; Sjovold, Nielsen, Bjortuft, Bjorkan; Evjen, Berg, Saltnes; Zinckernagel, Hogh, Hauge
