The UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich closed with one of the craziest score chases of the season, when the home team won a thrilling 5-4 victory.
Right after the opening whistle, the two teams pushed the pace of the match to a very high level. Harry Kane opened the score for Bayern from the penalty spot in the 17th minute, but PSG quickly responded.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia shined with a classy solo to equalize 1-1. The open game continued to be maintained when Joao Neves headed to increase the score to 2-1, before Michael Olise scored a super long-range shot to bring the match back to the starting line.
The drama did not stop there. At the end of the first half, Ousmane Dembele successfully converted a penalty after VAR intervened, helping PSG enter the break with a 3-2 advantage.
The second half really exploded. Kvaratskhelia completed a double with a dangerous finish to increase the score to 4-2, before Dembele also scored the second goal, putting PSG ahead 5-2. However, Bayern's bravery was shown when Dayot Upamecano headed to narrow the gap to 3-5.
The final minutes became breathtaking when Bayern put all their pressure. Luis Diaz scored in a controversial situation related to VAR, setting a regrettable 4-5 score for the German representative. Although controlling the ball more (57%), Bayern could not take advantage of the opportunity as effectively as PSG.
This narrow victory helps PSG take a fragile advantage before the second leg, promising another tense and unpredictable great battle in the Champions League.
