Many tourists said that water motorbikes run along the beach at high speed, even entering crowded areas swimming to pick up guests. This poses many risks and is prone to collisions.
Motorbikes do not operate at fixed wharves, when customers have demand, they turn in to pick them up. Meanwhile, many people are swimming in the sea, especially young children. This is quite dangerous and potentially risky" - Mr. Nguyen Linh, a tourist in Hanoi, said.
It is known that the ticket price for each water motorbike experience ranges from 300,000 - 350,000 VND, depending on the time and agreement.
“The deployment of water motorcycle services is necessary to meet tourism needs. However, it is necessary to manage strictly, arrange clear wharves and pick-up and drop-off points, and publicly list prices. Do not allow the situation of chaotic operation, entering the swimming area, which is potentially dangerous” - Ms. Bui Trang, a tourist in Ninh Binh, shared.
Exchanging about the above issue, a representative of the leadership of Sam Son Ward People's Committee, Thanh Hoa province, said that some businesses have proposed to apply for water motorbike operations in the Sam Son sea area and have been assigned by the province to the locality for research and handling.
Before the needs of tourists and the proposals of businesses, the locality is assigning specialized departments to advise and develop specific plans. This is aimed at diversifying tourism products, while creating budget revenue and forming forces to support rescue and relief at sea" - a representative of Sam Son Ward People's Committee informed.
Also according to this representative, in the immediate future, the locality will inspect and request to stop the operation of spontaneous water motorbikes. At the same time, consider the actual needs to come up with appropriate plans. It is expected to arrange 3 wharves along the beach, with flags planted, clear traffic diversion and not allowing vehicles to enter the main swimming area.
