Real Madrid is emerging as the brightest candidate in the race to sign Yan Diomande, a 19-year-old winger from RB Leipzig.
According to German media, the Royal Spanish team sent an offer worth 100 million Euros (about £8.54 million) but was rejected by RB Leipzig. The Bundesliga representative is said to want a significantly higher fee to accept leaving one of the most promising talents of the team.
However, negotiations between the two sides are still ongoing. Real Madrid has resumed negotiations with RB Leipzig to find common ground on the transfer fee.
On the player's side, Real Madrid has reached a personal agreement with Diomande. Previously, this young talent had expressed his desire to join Paris Saint-Germain and is said to have agreed on the terms of the contract valid until 2031 with the French team.
Not only Real Madrid, Liverpool also closely followed Diomande throughout the summer transfer window. However, the Anfield team is not willing to spend more than 85 million pounds for this deal.
Arsenal and Manchester City are also still interested in the young star of RB Leipzig, making the competition not completely settled when the transfer market is about 6 weeks away from closing.
Real Madrid's drastic move takes place in the context that Vinicius Junior's future is still not guaranteed. The Santiago Bernabeu team wants to soon add a quality option to the attack if there are personnel changes.
