Coach Ruben Amorim believes that Bryan Mbeumo has had a promising start at Manchester United, but admits that this striker is still in the process of regaining his best form.
The Cameroonian striker made his first debut for the "Red Devils" when they won the Premier League Summer Series in the US, after a 2-2 draw with Everton.
The 25-year-old striker played the first 45 minutes of the match in which Amorim's team did not have an expected performance. Man United's latest rookie, transferred from Brentford for £71 million, has joined the pre-season tour with the team. Before the Everton game, Mbeumo had only trained with the team and had not played.

Mbeumo played up front alongside Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha against Everton in Atlanta. The player was also given the responsibility of taking some free kicks for his new team, showing the trust of the Man United coaching staff.
The Cameroonian international contributed to Man United's opening goal when he made a pass to Amad. Amad himself later earned a penalty and Bruno Fernandes successfully took advantage to put his team ahead.
Mbeumo also almost recorded his name on the scoreboard after two consecutive shots were blocked by the opponent. However, Amorim warned that Mbeumo still need to accelerate and improve before the new season. The Portuguese captain also stressed that the new student must continue to learn and get used to his role in the squad.
"He played well. He needs to understand the position and the way of moving. The first touches, the way he connects with the balls, have opened up a lot of space for the whole team.
You can see that he's not in perfect shape, but he runs a lot and that helps stretch the opponent's formation" - Amorim commented on Mbeumo.
The Red Devils have been linked with a number of additions this summer, including the signing of striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. However, they are facing fierce competition from Newcastle in this deal.

In addition, Man United is still looking to liquidate some stars, including Antony and Jadon Sancho. However, Amorim insists he is happy with his current squad ahead of the new season.
"Of course, a team can always improve with more players, but we have players who are competitive. We need to improve ourselves, and with the potential we have, I am really happy with this squad.
There are some problems I had to deal with last year. And I told the players that this season, you take responsibility for it. Small problems come from you and you have to take responsibility for that," Amorim added.
