Welcoming Brentford at home in round 12 of the Premier League 2023-2024, Liverpool took the initiative to play offensively in the first minutes. However, Salah and his teammates were strongly opposed by the away team.

Nunez was present to catch the ball in a position of turning his back towards the goal, shaking Brentford's net. However, once again, the assistant referee raised the flag reporting of of offside.
Liverpool's attacking efforts have finally been rewarded. In the 39th minute, starting from Liverpool's fierce attack, Nunez assisted Salah to run down and finish dangerously, putting the home team ahead 1-0, giving the home team an advantage before the end of the first half.
Entering the second half, in the 62nd minute, from a very complex combination, Tsimikas tried to make a cross to the far post so Salah could comfortably head the ball into Brentford's net, putting "The Kop" ahead 2-0.
This was also the Egyptian star's 200th goal in the Premier League.
In the 74th minute, Jota dribbled past Onyeka on the edge of the penalty area before firing a dangerous shot that goalkeeper Flekken could not block. Liverpool leads 3-0.
At the end of the match, Liverpool proactively gave up the game to Brentford players. However, it was not easy for the away team to find an equalizer. There were 6 minutes of extra time in the second half but that time was not enough for Brentford to have an honorary goal.
With a 3-0 win, Liverpool rose to 2nd place in the rankings with the same 27 points as Man City but the "blue half of Man" played a little later.
