On the afternoon of August 20, in Ho Chi Minh City, the launching ceremony of the 3rd National Student 7-a-side Football Tournament 2024 (SV7 2024) took place. Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vu - Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), representatives of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, Ho Chi Minh City Professional University Sports Association and representatives of football teams.
With the slogan "Study hard, play hard", SV7 2024 is a tournament that brings together the top student football teams from across the country. SV7 started out as just a football tournament with 8 schools in Hanoi competing, Up to now, after 2 successful seasons, in the 3rd season, the tournament has been expanded to up to 40 participating schools and has become an indispensable tournament for students across the country.
This year's tournament will have qualifying rounds in 3 regions. The qualifying round in Hanoi took place from August 26 to September 23, attracting 16 teams to participate, competing at Hoang Mai Stadium. In Da Nang, 8 teams will compete in the qualifying round from September 17 to 25 at Tuyen Son Stadium. In Ho Chi Minh City, 16 qualifying teams will compete from October 1 to 11 at Ton Duc Thang University stadium.
The qualifying round champion will receive 20 million VND in prize money. At the end of the qualifying round, the organizing committee will select the top 2 teams in each region and 2 invited teams to attend the national final round, taking place from October 22 to 30 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The SV7 2024 championship team will receive 50 million VND, the runner-up team will receive 30 million VND... In addition, the organizing committee also supports travel expenses for away teams attending the final round, up to 30 million VND/team. Besides the collective prizes, the organizing committee also awarded many valuable individual prizes.
The 3rd National Student 7-a-side Football Tournament in 2024 is organized by Viet Sports Investment Joint Stock Company (Vietsports), in collaboration with the Hanoi Football Federation and Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation, and the Professional University Sports Association.
