This year's match is a competition between Hanoi Police Club - the champion of V.League 2025-2026 and Ho Chi Minh City Police - the champion of the National Cup 2025-2026.
This is also the opening match of the new season of Vietnamese professional football after the Vietnamese team successfully defended the ASEAN Cup 2026 championship.
According to regulations, the two teams play for 90 minutes. If there is no draw, the Super Cup winning team will be decided by a penalty shootout (no extra time). The match also applies VAR technology with the direction of FIFA Vietnam referees.
Regarding prizes, the winning team will receive a new version gold cup, badge, medal and 300 million VND prize money. The runner-up team will receive 200 million VND. In addition, the player who scores the first goal and the best player of the match will also receive 10 million VND.
In addition, Agribank reserves a prize of 500 million VND for the Super Cup champion team this year.
For Hanoi Police, this is an opportunity to defend the title after coach Polking's team won the Super Cup last season. If they continue to win, the Capital representative will become the 5th team in history to win the Super Cup for two consecutive seasons, after Song Lam Nghe An, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Becamex Binh Duong and Hanoi.
In the opposite direction, Ho Chi Minh City Police aims to raise the Super Cup for the first time.
The 2025-2026 National Super Cup match between Hanoi Police and Ho Chi Minh City Police takes place at 6:00 PM on August 30th at Hang Day Stadium.
