Today (May 29), striker Nguyen Cong Phuong was in Hanoi to gather with the Vietnam team, preparing for the match against Malaysia in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, taking place on June 10.
That same evening, the striker from Nghe An had a coffee drink with his close friend, striker Van Toan. In this training session, Van Toan is absent due to being treated for injury.
On his personal page, Van Toan posted a photo of him and Cong Phuong happy, holding hands and saying goodbye when meeting each other. Notably, many fans were excited to see the fashion style of the two players.
Accordingly, Van Toan wore a comfortable black T-shirt and a black male hat. Meanwhile, Cong Phuong also dressed comfortably, wearing a matching gray shirt with a round neck. The striker of Binh Phuoc team also wore a male cap with the same color as the shirt he was wearing.
The simple, coinciding dressing style shows the harmony and understanding of the two strikers. Fans also humorously called the two players "twin brothers".
Cong Phuong and Van Toan are one of the best friends in Vietnamese football. Both are first-year students of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Academy - Arsenal JMG. Van Toan once shared on Hoang Anh Gia Lai's fanpage in 2021: "For me, Cong Phuong is a friend who has accompanied me from childhood to adulthood. That is also the person I share a lot with.
Sometimes when I was tired, I could only share with Cong Phuong. Many times the two were not close, just texting, calling to encourage or just joking or saying a few shocking, winking words. But it is thanks to those things that motivates me".
Although currently, both of them play for two different teams, Cong Phuong is married, but he and Van Toan always share and often appear together on important occasions.
Recently, Van Toan also shared on his personal page a message from Nguyen Cong Phuong. The striker born in 1995 revealed that he has 4 S-VIP tickets to watch the music program of G-Dragon (a famous Korean male singer) scheduled to perform in Vietnam and wants to give Van Toan all 4 tickets.
This partly proved the closeness of the two mature players from Hoang Anh Gia Lai team.
