On the afternoon of October 22, coach Mai Duc Chung had an information exchange before the international friendly football tournament in Chongqing, China.
At the meeting, coach Mai Duc Chung thanked the Chinese Football Federation for inviting the Vietnamese women's team to participate in the tournament as well as the leadership of the Vietnam Football Federation for creating conditions for the Vietnamese women's team to be present here to compete with the Chinese women's team and the Uzbekistan women's team.
Coach Mai Duc Chung also thanked the local organizers for their warm welcome when the team arrived at the airport and at the hotel.
“This tournament takes place during the process of the Vietnamese women's football team's rejuvenation. Therefore, this will be a good opportunity for the players to learn from their opponents and gain experience for the future,” the head coach of the Vietnamese women's team affirmed.
Before leaving for this tournament, the Vietnamese women's team also made personnel adjustments when striker Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan was injured and had to receive treatment, forcing the coaching staff to call up additional striker Vu Thi Hoa.
Also at the press conference, head coach of the Uzbekistan women's team Vladimir Panov expressed his appreciation for the tournament when being able to compete with quality opponents in the continent.
As the host team, the head coach of the Chinese women's team thanked the two teams for accepting to participate in the tournament and hoped that the teams would complete their set goals.
At 5:15 p.m. the same day (Vietnam time), coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will have an official training session at Yongchuan Sports Center (Chongqing).
