The Vietnam U22 team will participate in the CFA Team China 2024 international friendly tournament in China from September 4 to September 10, with the U22 Uzbekistan, U22 Malaysia and U22 China teams.
According to the match schedule, coach Dinh Hong Vinh and his team will have their opening match against host U22 China at 6:35 p.m. today (September 4). This is a big challenge for U22 Vietnam, but also an opportunity for the whole team to compete and gain experience.
The U22 Vietnam squad is a combination of players who have just made their mark at the 2024 National U21 tournament, along with some faces who have affirmed themselves in the youth team and the national team in recent times, such as Nguyen Thai Son, Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Nguyen Quoc Viet, Nguyen Dinh Bac...
Before the match, coach Dinh Hong Vinh shared: "This is a good opportunity for young Vietnamese players to compete and gain valuable experiences for their development. Before participating in the tournament, U22 Vietnam had only undergone 2 short-term training sessions. This time, the team only had 2 days of training before leaving.
However, that is not a big obstacle because the players have had time to grow up together when participating in the youth team levels. We see the determination and confidence of the players.
The matches ahead will not be easy, but with preparation and solidarity, we will do our best to achieve the set goals.
Hopefully, from this tournament, the coaching staff will discover outstanding players to strengthen the U23 Vietnam team to participate in important tournaments in 2025."
