Not only Ha Tinh Stadium is not of good quality, many stadiums in the V.League in recent times have also had sparse grass growth, with many perches, hard or concave foundations. These include Thanh Hoa Stadium, Quy Nhon Stadium, Hoa Xuan Stadium or even My Dinh Stadium.
In round 12 of V.League 2024-2025 on February 8, coach Le Quang Trai of Hoang Anh Gia Lai also frankly criticized the quality of My Dinh Stadium - where the Vietnam national team did not choose to register to compete in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
He said: "The grass in the A stand area is very rough. I think the grass of the national stadium should be maintained and repaired better, but My Dinh Stadium at this time does not meet the standards".
The captain of the Mountain City team reflected correctly. Because coach Nguyen Duc Thang of The Cong Viettel - the team that chose My Dinh Stadium as their home stadium also emphasized: "From a personal perspective, near my seating position, the A stands of My Dinh Stadium near the pitch road are not beautiful. The story of the stadium being degraded due to harsh weather conditions, using the stadium for many events or due to the constant practice of football teams leading to a state of grass extinction... has become an eternal story of V.League, especially in the first 3 months of each year.
However, that means that teams must increase their responsibility in managing and caring for the grass in accordance with the regulations from the tournament organizing committee to ensure the quality of organizing matches.
Most recently, VPF and the organizing committee of the 2024-2025 national professional tournaments have taken drastic actions, requesting the match organizing committee and the football team to urgently work with the stadium management unit, temporarily suspend all training and competition activities on the field area; maximize measures to care for, maintain and maintain the grass.
That is necessary. Because the pitch surface not only directly contributes to the image of a national professional tournament, but is also a place for players to practice.
