According to the People's Committee of Yen Chau district, the traffic accident occurred at 11:22, at Km 235 + 100 National Highway 6 in Ban Thin, Sup Vat commune.
At that time, a passenger car with license plate 26F - 009.08 driven by Mr. Nguyen Dinh H (born in 1983, residing in Village 1, Phu Luu Te Commune, My Duc District, Hanoi) traveling from Son La to Hanoi collided with a tractor-trailer with license plate 36C - 095.93 pulling a semi-trailer with license plate 36R - 004.73 driven by Mr. Do Xuan T (born in 1986, residing in Xuan Mai Apartment, Dong Hai Ward, Thanh Hoa City, Thanh Hoa Province) traveling in the opposite direction.
As a result, the accident killed 6 people, injured 9 people, and damaged 02 cars blocking the entire road.
Based on the results of the examination, the cause of the accident was determined to be due to rain, the road was slippery, the bus driver did not control the speed, so when he cornered, half of the rear body of the bus was thrown into the opposite lane and collided with a tractor-trailer.
Currently, the People's Committee of Son La province, the Provincial Police, and the People's Committee of Yen Chau district have organized visits, encouragement, and financial support for the relatives of the victims (5,000,000 VND/person, 2,000,000 VND/injured person).
The accident is being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.
