On the afternoon of August 6, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) organized the Draw and schedule arrangement ceremony for the 2026-2027 national professional football league season.
V.League 2026-2027 has 14 participating clubs, including Bac Ninh, Hanoi Police, Ho Chi Minh City Police, Dong A Thanh Hoa, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh Green Steel, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Song Lam Nghe An, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Ninh Binh, The Cong Viettel, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai and SHB Da Nang.
According to the draw results, round 1 includes the matches Hanoi Police - Hong Linh Ha Tinh; Dong Nai Fresh School - Viettel Sports; Dong A Thanh Hoa - SHB Da Nang; Lam River Nghe An - Bac Ninh; Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi Police; Hai Phong - Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh Green Steel - Hoang Anh Gia Lai.
Notably, many fateful matches such as Thanh Hoa - Da Nang or Ho Chi Minh City Police - Hanoi have met in the opening round of the previous season.
In this year's tournament, each club is allowed to register a maximum of 4 foreign players and use all 4 on the field at the same time, an increase of one spot compared to last season. Clubs participating in AFF and AFC international tournaments are allowed to register a maximum of 7 foreign players and use 4 people in one match.
In the First Division, 14 teams compete from September 11, 2026 to May 16, 2027. The top two teams win direct promotion tickets, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Second Division.
