On September 12, in Hanoi, the 70th anniversary of The Cong tradition (September 23, 1954 - September 23, 2024) and the launch ceremony for the 2024-2025 season took place.
At the ceremony, Colonel Do Manh Dung - General Director of Viettel Sports Company said: "Last season, The Cong Viettel finished 5th overall in V.League and won the bronze medal of the 2023-2024 National Cup, thereby failing to complete the initial goal (top 3 V.League, reaching the final of the National Cup).
Aiming for a bright new season, the club has added two foreign coaches, Juliano Vallim (fitness expert) and Juliano Vallim (goalkeeper coach).
In addition, the team recruited 2 more foreign players, midfielder Wesley Nata and striker Amarildo Wesley; 2 new players Nguyen Minh Tung and Bui Van Duc, and promoted 5 young players to the first team: Nguyen Dang Duong, Nguyen Manh Hung, Nguyen Huu Thai Bao, Nguyen Huu Nam, Le Quoc Nhat Nam.
The army team has completed training programs, including building a plan to develop strength and endurance to ensure 90 minutes of play; implementing a defensive counter-attacking style of play, quickly switching states...
At this time, The Cong Viettel is ready for the 2024-2025 season with the goal of entering the top 3 of V.League to compete for the championship, while aiming for the National Cup title.
Head coach Nguyen Duc Thang emphasized: "In the past time, we have made efforts to prepare for the new season. The 29-player squad of The Cong Viettel has 9 new players. The squad is rejuvenated with the youngest player Nguyen Cong Phuong, 18 years old, one of the youngest players in the V.League this season.
Continuing to promote an attractive, flexible, pioneering and cohesive playing style, we will create a team full of desire and determination for the new season. Our goal is to finish in the top 3 and compete for the 2024-2025 V.League championship and reach the final of the National Cup this season."

In the opening match, The Cong Viettel club will play away against Ho Chi Minh City at Thong Nhat Stadium at 7:15 p.m. on September 15.
At the launch ceremony, Viettel The Cong Club donated 100 million VND to support provinces affected by storms and floods.
