According to the original schedule, the match between Russia and Thailand in the 2024 Triumvirate International Friendly Tournament will take place at 8:00 p.m. today (September 7) at My Dinh Stadium.
However, due to the impact of storm No. 3 Yagi in Hanoi in particular and the northern provinces and cities in general, this match may be postponed.
Speaking to Lao Dong on the morning of September 7, General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation - Duong Nghiep Khoi said that currently, the organizing committee is working with the teams and coming up with some plans. VFF will update specific information after a final decision is made.
According to the update, currently, the weather in Hanoi is heavy rain and strong winds. It is forecasted that this afternoon and evening, storm No. 3 Yagi will have a greater impact, most likely not ensuring conditions for organizing the match.
In addition, postponing the match is also to ensure the safety of the coaching staff and players of the two teams.
Earlier, in the press conference before the match (September 6), coach Valery Karpin of the Russian team said: "We have heard and been updated about the weather situation. The team has also considered it but is not too worried about this."
If the match between Russia and Thailand is postponed, it will likely be moved to 8:00 p.m. tomorrow (September 8).
