Nguyen Hoang is considered a potential striker of U22 Vietnam in the campaign towards the 31st SEA Games. Despite having to gather late due to being busy wearing the Saigon shirt to compete in the final rounds of the V.League 2020, the striker from the PVF "hamlet" squad is still confident in integrating.
"I feel that I am integrating well, confident that I can overcome all of Mr. Park Hang-seo's lesson plans. Up to now, I think the coaching staff's tactics are not difficult, everyone can integrate.
Teachers often remind players to focus more and practice more physical training. The team's physical exercises are quite heavy, so they are also lazy," Nguyen Hoang shared after the training session on November 12.
The 18-year-old striker also said that the difference between the national team and the club is in the pressure. In the current U22 Vietnam team, Nguyen Hoang is one of the youngest players, so there is a lot of pressure. However, that was also the motivation for him to continue trying. Nguyen Hoang shared that coach Park Hang-seo is very strict in teaching his students, sometimes scolding them, but such a strong measure is a deterrent to help the players improve.
Despite his young age, the striker from Dong Thap is a rare player of U22 Vietnam who had the opportunity to show his performance and score a goal in V.League 2020. Nguyen Hoang has received many compliments from coach and Chairman Vu Tien Thanh. This striker also admitted that the time playing for the Saigon team brought him a lot of experience.
"I feel very lucky to be playing with two foreign strikers from Saigon, Pedro and Geovane. The good strikers, left-footed players, they help and teach me a lot".
