On the afternoon of December 23, after a flight lasting more than 3 hours from Hanoi, the Vietnam national football team arrived in Singapore to prepare for the first leg of the semi-final against the host team Singapore, within the framework of the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship (ASEAN Cup).
At Changi International Airport, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team did not take long to enter the country thanks to the contactless automatic border control system applied by the neighboring country.
Previously, the whole team proactively completed the online entry declaration in English via the website of the Singapore Immigration Department, so customs clearance went very smoothly.
Representatives of the leaders and officials of the Vietnamese Embassy and some Vietnamese fans in Singapore went to the airport to welcome and present flowers to the team. The presence, support and enthusiastic encouragement of the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore and overseas Vietnamese have given coach Kim Sang-sik and his team more motivation before the upcoming important match.
Captain Do Duy Manh shared: "The whole team was very happy to receive a warm welcome from the Embassy and overseas Vietnamese when arriving in Singapore.
This is a great source of encouragement for the whole team. We will try our best to achieve the best results in the upcoming match and bring pride to the fans."
Tonight, after settling in, the Vietnamese team will have their first training session in Singapore to get used to the weather and field conditions. Currently, Singapore is experiencing light rain and temperatures ranging from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.
