The first leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup final between Vietnam and Thailand will take place at 8:00 p.m. tomorrow (January 2) at Viet Tri Stadium.
To prepare for this match, tonight (January 1), the Vietnamese team had an official training session at the stadium. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team have a slight advantage as they have one more day off, while Thailand has just gone through a tough 120 minutes against the Philippines.
Coach Kim Sang-sik said that the Vietnamese team will try to take advantage of this advantage along with home field and home crowd to achieve victory.
“I know they are struggling and tired after having to play extra time with the Philippines. I think this is also something we need to focus on to take advantage of and attack. However, the Vietnamese team will try to play according to the set plan. I believe that if the team tries hard, scoring opportunities will come. With the support from home fans, the players will not falter and are determined to have a good match,” Mr. Kim emphasized.
