On October 15, VFF Vice President - Mr. Tran Anh Tu - represented the VFF Executive Committee to chair a meeting with head coach Kim Sang-sik to discuss the operation plan in the upcoming important preparation period of the Vietnamese team, towards the Southeast Asian Championship (ASEAN Cup 2024).
At the meeting, head coach Kim Sang-sik reported on the team's professional results through two training sessions and friendly matches during FIFA Days in September and October.
In the report, the Korean coach clearly stated the difficulties and advantages of the team as well as the limitations that need to be overcome in terms of personnel and playing style that were revealed through matches with Russia, Thailand and India.
In addition, coach Kim Sang-sik also accepted the comments and professional contributions of the Chairman of the National Coaching Council - Mr. Nguyen Sy Hien and Vice Chairman of the National Coaching Council - Mr. Mai Duc Chung, together aiming for the common goal of helping the team compete better when officially entering the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship which will take place in December.
Vice President Tran Anh Tu affirmed that VFF will continue to ensure that the team's activities are carried out according to the set plan. Accordingly, the team will focus on training for a longer period of time than the last two training sessions and will have a training session and friendly match in Korea in November.
The team's failure to gather according to the FIFA Days schedule in November was part of the plan that VFF had built for the team in advance and was based on the proposal of head coach Kim Sang-sik.
This is aimed at maintaining the players' rhythm and form through the competition process in the V.League, and at the same time, using the FIFA Days break in November to compensate for the training session before the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship, thereby helping the coaching staff have more time to take advantage of and perfect the personnel, stabilize the squad and playing style, aiming to successfully achieve the set goal of striving to reach the final match of the regional arena.
