On the morning of September 8, the Vietnam Football Federation held a ceremony to announce the main sponsor and draw lots to schedule the competition round of the 2025 National U17 Championship.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - General Secretary of VFF said: "The National U17 Cup plays an important role in the Vietnam youth football training system.
This is not only a playground to help players aged 16-17 accumulate competition experience, but also a place for clubs and youth football training centers to evaluate the coaching process, discover and nurture outstanding factors for the country's football.
This year's tournament is the basis for discovering young talents preparing for the U17 men's team to participate in the U17 Asian qualifiers in November".
Following the success of previous seasons, Thai Son Nam Group Joint Stock Company accompanied the National U17 Championship finals as the Main sponsor.
"Youth tournaments are a useful playground for the corresponding generations of players. Being able to compete in official tournaments helps students have the opportunity to rub shoulders and improve their techniques, tactics as well as practice their competitive mentality.
The National U17 Tournament is an important tournament because this is the age of necessity for them to mature and compete in the most professional environment in Vietnamese football," said Mr. Tran Anh Minh - representative of the sponsor.
The National U17 Final Round has the participation of 12 teams. According to the draw results, Group A includes U17 Ho Chi Minh City, U17 Hanoi Police, U17 Nam Dinh and U17 Da Nang. Group B includes U17 Becamex HCMC, U17 Hoang Anh Gia Lai, U17 Hanoi and U17 Song Lam Nghe An. Meanwhile, Group C has the presence of U17 Ho Chi Minh City, U17 An Giang, U17 PVF-CAND and U17 The Cong Viettel.
In the tournament 1 year ago, U17 Hanoi and U17 Hoang Anh Gia Lai both entered the finals. Two goals by Dau Hong Phong and Nguyen Thien Phu helped the capital team win the championship for the first time in this playground.
The 2025 National U17 Tournament will take place in Ba Ria, Ho Chi Minh City from September 13 to September 26, 2025. The teams in each group will compete in a round-robin to calculate points and rank.
The 3 teams ranked first, second in each group and the 2 teams with the best results will qualify for the quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals.
