According to the schedule, U23 Vietnam will be divided into 2 groups to return home after closing their journey at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship finals with an emotional bronze medal.
Accordingly, the first group of U23 Vietnam will travel on flight QR 984 with the Doha - Hanoi route, landing at 7:45 PM on January 24 at Noi Bai International Airport.
Meanwhile, the remaining group will return home later, on flight QR 982, also departing from Doha and expected to arrive in Hanoi at 06:55 am on January 25, 2026.
Currently, fans have planned to welcome coach Kim Sang-sik and his team at Noi Bai airport.
Before leaving for Vietnam, U23 Vietnam left a strong impression with a dramatic victory over U23 Korea. The "Golden Star Warriors" defeated the opponent after a breathtaking penalty shootout, thereby winning 3rd place overall at the tournament.
In 90 minutes of official play, U23 Vietnam twice took the lead thanks to goals from Nguyen Quoc Viet and Nguyen Dinh Bac. However, U23 Korea showed bravery when equalizing 2-2 in the last minute.
Stepping into extra time, U23 Vietnam fell into a disadvantageous situation when Dinh Bac received a red card, causing the home team to play with fewer players. However, the whole team still maintained focus and discipline in defense, resiliently drawing with the opponent to put the match into a penalty shootout.
From the 11m spot, goalkeeper Cao Van Binh became an important support when successfully saving a shot from U23 Korea. U23 Vietnam players accurately performed the remaining kicks to win 7-6, closing the tournament with a positive result.
After returning home, the U23 Vietnam players will rest, before returning to gather with their parent club to prepare for V.League 2025-2026.
