Speaking after overcoming U23 Korea in the 3rd place match of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship on the evening of January 23 (Vietnam time), striker Quoc Viet said he felt proud of what U23 Vietnam showed against a higher-rated opponent.
I am very proud of U23 Vietnam when they won against Korea. This is a worthy reward for the continuous efforts of the whole team throughout the tournament," Quoc Viet said.
According to this striker, the victory in the third-place match is of special significance in the context that U23 Vietnam faces many difficulties in terms of force and fitness.
