After a 2-1 victory over U23 Kyrgyzstan in the second match of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship finals, the U23 Vietnam team received timely recognition and encouragement from the leaders of the Vietnam Football Federation.
Immediately after the match ended, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan and the Executive Committee members directly met and congratulated the whole team in the dressing room.
Here, President Tran Quoc Tuan praised the fighting spirit, efforts and bravery of the U23 Vietnam players, and at the same time, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the VFF Executive Committee, awarded a hot bonus of 600 million VND to coach Kim Sang-sik and his team.
This bonus is a practical encouragement, recognizing the efforts of the whole team after winning all 6 points in the first two matches.
Previously, after the opening match against U23 Jordan with a score of 2-0, VFF also rewarded the U23 Vietnam team 500 million VND. Thus, after two matches, the team received a total bonus of 1.1 billion VND from the Vietnam Football Federation.
According to the schedule, in the last group stage match, U23 Vietnam will face U23 Saudi Arabia at 11:30 PM on January 12. This match is to determine the top spot in Group A and determine the opponent in the quarterfinals.
