After winning a bronze medal at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation decided to "hot reward" U23 Vietnam 2 billion VND. This is to recognize the efforts of coach Kim Sang-sik and his team throughout the tournament.
Previously, U23 Vietnam received other bonuses during the competition. In the quarter-finals, after defeating U23 UAE with a score of 3-2, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan, on behalf of the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Federation, decided to give a hot bonus of 1.2 billion VND to the whole team.
Further, from the group stage, U23 Vietnam also received a bonus thanks to stable performance, winning all 9 points after three matches against U23 Jordan, U23 Kyrgyzstan and U23 Saudi Arabia. With a total victory in the group stage, Dinh Bac and his teammates received a bonus of 1.9 billion VND.
Thus, as of the end of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship, the total bonus amount that U23 Vietnam received is 5.1 billion VND. Of which, 2 billion VND comes from the achievement of winning a bronze medal; 1.2 billion VND from the victory in the quarter-finals and 1.9 billion VND from the achievement of winning the group stage.
According to the schedule, U23 Vietnam will be divided into 2 groups returning home. The first group travels on flight QR 984 with the Doha - Hanoi route, landing at 7:45 PM on January 24 at Noi Bai International Airport.
The remaining group returned home later, on flight QR 982, also departing from Doha and expected to arrive in Hanoi at 06:55 am on January 25.
