On the occasion of the National Day 2.9, VFF President - Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan and VFF General Secretary - Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi had a meeting to encourage the Vietnam National Team and the National U20 Team. The two teams are actively training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
For the national team, this training session is during FIFA Days in September 2024 and is part of the preparation process for the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship which will take place at the end of the year.
During this gathering, coach Kim Sang-sik's team will participate in an international friendly football tournament organized by VFF, with the participation of two quality guest teams: Russia and Thailand.
At the meeting, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan and Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi congratulated the players for having a successful season with the club and are looking forward to the new season with new goals.
Being selected by coach Kim Sang-sik to join the national team is a testament to the efforts of each individual player over the past time.
On behalf of the VFF leadership, VFF President - Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan reminded the whole team to focus on training to prepare for the upcoming meaningful matches at the upcoming international friendly tournament. The VFF President emphasized that the upcoming two matches against Russia and Thailand are a good opportunity for the Vietnamese team to practice and improve their performance to prepare for the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship.
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan also encouraged the players to take full advantage of this opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and competitive spirit, contributing to the fans and creating momentum for future successes.
On behalf of the National U20 team, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan congratulated the entire team on returning home after a training trip in Japan and continuing to practice to prepare for the 2025 U20 Asian qualifiers (September 21-29).
The VFF President affirmed that investment in youth teams is always a priority for the VFF Executive Committee. In addition to creating conditions for teams to train and compete in friendly matches in countries with developed football, the VFF also actively contacts and invites quality teams to Vietnam to increase opportunities for players to exchange and compete.
"In the near future, the Vietnam U20 team will have two friendly matches with the Russian U20 team. VFF leaders hope that through these two matches, the whole team will accumulate more experience and complete their preparations before entering the 2025 U20 Asian qualifiers," said Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan.
The meeting between VFF leaders and the two teams took place in an atmosphere of excitement nationwide celebrating National Day September 2. All pledged to do their best to compete to achieve the set goals, bringing joy and pride to the country's fans in the upcoming stages.
