In-depth discussion sessions mentioned many important programs such as FIFA Forward, FIFA Football for Schools, FIFA Arena, Boots for All campaign, youth football development and improved governance efficiency.
In addition to the official agenda, VFF leaders will also have meetings with FIFA leaders and representatives of many member federations to expand international cooperation and promote professional exchange.
The accumulated experiences from directly observing the organization of the first World Cup with 48 teams, along with the connections established at the FIFA high-level forum, are expected to contribute to serving the development strategy, integration and raising the level of Vietnamese football in the future.
VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan's participation in the FIFA 2026 Summit is not simply a working trip on the sidelines of the World Cup, but also reflects the increasingly prominent role of Vietnamese football in the international football governance system.
Previously, in October 2025, FIFA officially appointed him as a member of the FIFA National Team Competition Committee for the term 2025 - 2029. This is the department responsible for advising the FIFA Council in building strategies, organizing and operating major tournaments such as the World Cup, U20 World Cup, U17 World Cup and many events belonging to the FIFA system.
This is considered a noteworthy milestone, showing that the VFF's prestige is increasingly recognized, and also an opportunity for Vietnamese football to soon access new management trends, organizational models and development policies of world football.
In addition to his role at FIFA, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan also holds many other important positions such as Member of the AFC Standing Committee, Chairman of the AFC and AFF Competition Committee, and Member of the Asian Cup Organizing Committee for the 2023-2027 term.
