Mr. Vu Huu Chuong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Trade Union of Quang Ninh Electricity Company, said that storm No. 3 left many serious consequences in the province, causing more than 3,700 medium and low voltage power poles to fall and 54 transformer stations to be damaged, along with many 220kV and 110kV lines to temporarily stop operating.
“Faced with the heavy damage to the power grid of Quang Ninh Electricity, immediately after storm No. 3 subsided, more than 1,170 officers and employees from the Northern Power Corporation, the Central Power Corporation, and the Hanoi Power Corporation joined hands to support the restoration of the power grid system in 11 localities in Quang Ninh province,” said Mr. Vu Huu Chuong.
According to Quang Ninh Electricity Company, with the efforts of the staff, engineers, workers and units, power has been restored to more than 440,000/461,678 customers (accounting for over 96%); about 20,000 customers are temporarily without power due to storms and floods that have severely damaged the system and have not yet been restored.
The union spent more than 1.2 billion VND on visits.
