Accordingly, the merger of 3 union units and renaming them into the Northern Hydrometeorological Station's grassroots union is based on Decision No. 2438/QD-BNNMT dated June 30, 2025 of the Minister of Agriculture and Environment stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Northern Hydrometeorological Station under the Department of Hydrometeorology.
The 3 merged trade union units include the grassroots trade union of the Northern Mountainous Hydrometeorological Station, consisting of 379 union members; the grassroots trade union of the Northern Delta and Midlands Hydrometeorological Station, consisting of 308 union members; the Thanh Hoa Province Hydrometeorological Station Trade Union, consisting of 95 union members.
After the merger, the Trade Union of the Northern Hydrometeorological Station has a total of 782 members; it is expected to have over 1,000 members after receiving more members working at local stations in the Northern region.
With the merger, the Trade Union of the Northern Hydrometeorological Station will become the unit with the largest number of union members compared to other units in the same industry in the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
The merger of three trade union units and renaming them the Bac Bac Mekong Hydrometeorological Trade Union is not only in line with the organization of the apparatus according to the arrangement of expertise but also strengthens, gathers strength and attracts more union members in the Northern region.
