To ensure that when the 2025 Law on Teachers takes effect from January 1, 2026, it is implemented synchronously, the Ministry of Education and Training is drafting a Decree regulating salary policies, allowances, support and attraction policies for teachers.
Regarding the method of calculating teachers' salaries, Clause 3, Article 3 of the Draft Decree stipulates the formula for calculating teachers' salaries. Accordingly, the salary calculation formula for secondary school teachers is as follows:
In which, the basic salary is implemented according to Government regulations.
Article 4 of the Draft Decree also stipulates the salary coefficient and specific salary coefficient for junior high school teachers. Teachers are paid according to the administrative career salary scale and are entitled to additional special salary coefficients corresponding to the position as follows:
Article 5 of the Draft Decree also stipulates the types of allowances for teachers as follows:
1. Position allowances.
2. Seniority allowances exceed the framework.
3. Seniority allowances for teachers.
4. Work responsibility allowance.
5. Regional allowances.
6. Mobile allowance.
7. Allowance for working in particularly difficult areas.
8. Vocational allowances.
9. Toxic and dangerous allowances.
