The National Assembly has just passed a Resolution on a number of specific and outstanding mechanisms and policies to create breakthroughs in education and training development, effective from January 1, 2026.
Accordingly, with specific and superior policies on remuneration for human resources in the education sector, the resolution stipulates that vocational preferential allowances are implemented according to the roadmap prescribed by the Government for public preschool and general education institutions at a minimum of 70% for teachers, a minimum of 30% for staff and 100% for teachers working in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions, ethnic minority areas, border areas, and islands.
The Law on Teachers, effective from January 1, 2026, also clearly stipulates "Teachers' salaries are ranked highest in the administrative and non-business salary scale system". The new policy brings excitement and great motivation to the team that has persistently contributed for a long time.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporters, Ms. Phan Bich Phuong - a teacher at Hong Phong Kindergarten (Dong Dang commune, Lang Son) - said that the work of preschool teachers today has far exceeded the role of caring for and teaching children as before. In addition to teaching classes, teachers must complete many types of records and books, in which the deployment of electronic records has significantly increased the workload.
According to Ms. Phuong, throughout the school year, kindergarten teachers also participate in many emulation movements, professional competitions and implement integrated programs and projects as required. Although contributing to enriching the educational environment, these activities also increase work pressure.
The current workload is quite dense, many times we have to balance between caring for and educating children and other tasks, so the pressure is not small" - she said.
Therefore, before the information about the salary adjustment and application of a specific salary coefficient from 2026, she expressed excitement and expectations. "Improving income not only helps teachers stabilize their lives but is also a source of encouragement for us to continue to stick with the profession - which requires a lot of enthusiasm and perseverance" - Ms. Phuong expressed.

In Lai Chau, Ms. Ly Gio Pu - a teacher at Mu Ca Commune Kindergarten - has been attached to the profession for nearly 18 years with love for young children. Recalling the early days of teaching, Ms. Pu said that her salary at that time was only about 1.6 million VND per month. When she was young and not married, she could still manage.
However, currently, although income has increased, the three-person family only relies on her teacher's salary, while relatives are often sick, and living expenses are always in a state of shortage.
According to her, the information that preschool teachers are about to enjoy a special salary coefficient and additional allowances is of great significance. This is not only a recognition of the silent efforts of preschool teachers but also helps them to be more confident in the path they have chosen.
I just hope for a more stable income to take care of my family, reduce worries about food and clothing and feel secure in sticking with the profession for a long time" - she said.

Not only teachers, the school staff also place high expectations on new policies. Ms. Bui Thi Huyen Thanh, equipment staff of Chieng Xuan Primary and Secondary School (Chieng Son commune, Son La province), said that she has been attached to this school in this border commune for nearly 17 years. According to her, income from work at the school is currently not enough to cover family life.
My family has two children who are going to school, my parents are old and have no pension, so I have to worry more. Therefore, outside of school hours, I take advantage of working overtime at noon, in the afternoon and all weekends, sometimes working until late at night" - Ms. Thanh recounted.
Regarding the information that school staff will receive increased allowances from 2026, Ms. Thanh said she is very excited. "If there is an additional stable allowance, my family's economic pressure will be significantly reduced" - she expressed.
