The Law on Teachers, effective from 2026, is expected to open a new phase for salary policies in the Education sector. Accordingly, teachers nationwide will enjoy a special salary coefficient, accompanied by allowances suitable to the nature of work and work area.
Recently, the National Assembly also passed a Resolution on specific mechanisms and policies to promote education development. Accordingly, school staff are entitled to a minimum allowance of 30%, teachers in particularly difficult areas, ethnic minorities, border areas, and islands receive 100%..., creating joy and great motivation for those who have contributed silently for many years.
In Chieng Son commune, Son La province, Ms. Hoang Thi Thiet - Music teacher, cum Head of the Team of Chieng Xuan Primary and Secondary School - has been attached to the podium for more than 20 years. Despite many difficulties, she still persistently pursues the profession with enthusiasm and responsibility.
According to Ms. Thiet, the school is located in a border area, the facilities are still limited, the roads are difficult, especially in the rainy season. Students are mainly children of ethnic minorities, life is still lacking, many children do not have enough books or warm clothes to go to class.
One of the constant worries of teachers in the highlands, according to Ms. Thiet, is the situation of students dropping out of school halfway.
Many children have to drop out of school due to family circumstances. I often go to each house to mobilize, sometimes only meeting grandparents or siblings because my parents go to work far away. Even so, I still try to persuade them not to finish their studies" - she shared.

Sharing about the new salary policy, Ms. Thiet said that this is a great desire of teachers, especially those working in difficult areas.
Adjusting income not only helps improve life but also shows respect for the silent contributions of teachers. However, I also expect the policy to have balance and fairness between levels of education, regions and teachers undertaking specific tasks" - Ms. Thiet expressed.
Also working in mountainous areas in Son La, Ms. Hoang Thi Bich Phuong - a teacher at Lien Chung Primary and Secondary School (Pifeng Khoai commune) - said that professional pressure is always present in daily life.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporters, Ms. Phuong said that the school's facilities currently do not fully meet teaching requirements. Some classrooms have deteriorated, equipment is still lacking, forcing teachers to flexibly adjust teaching methods to suit actual conditions.
Besides professional work, Ms. Phuong also has to manage her family and take care of her two young children. The workload in the school year sometimes makes her feel overloaded, but the joy of seeing students progress day by day helps her have more motivation to continue to stick with the profession.

Before the information about the new salary policy, Ms. Phuong expressed her excitement and expectations. According to her, the current income level makes it difficult for many teachers to balance spending. Therefore, the addition of a specific salary coefficient and allowances is considered a positive sign, helping teachers feel secure in their long-term work.
In the near future, when the policy officially takes effect, I expect the policy implementation to be implemented synchronously, closely to the conditions of each locality, thereby creating more support for the teaching staff to feel secure in accompanying students" - Ms. Phuong expressed.
