On July 17, the Labor Federation of Kien Giang province and the Labor Federation of Ha Tien City held a ceremony to hand over the Trade Union Shelter to union member Huynh Huu Ha (born 1984), a member of the Ha Tien Dock Loading and Unloading Union.
At the handover ceremony, Mr. Ha shared: "I have worked as a stevedore for 12 years and joined the union for 11 years. Even though the situation is difficult, the whole family of four has relied on each other to get through it. My wife is a housewife so I also have no income, I alone support my family with an elderly mother and two young children."
Mr. Ha said that his income is about 8 million VND/month so he has no money to repair or build a house. But fortunately, the Trade Union organization supported him to have a safe place to live.
According to the Ha Tien City Labor Federation, the condition of union member Ha's previous house had seriously deteriorated, the corrugated iron roof was severely damaged. The newly built house was worth 60 million VND, the family accumulated 10 million VND, the Union supported 50 million VND.
Sharing the joy of the new house, Chairman of the Labor Federation of Kien Giang province Truong Thanh Thuy also sent words of encouragement to Ha's union members to have a more spacious place to live, which will be convenient for the family to live without worrying about the rainy and stormy season. Through that, union members should try to overcome difficulties, work well to create income to take care of the family, and raise children.
On this occasion, the Provincial Labor Federation also gave the family a gift to celebrate their new home.
